JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for day-to-day maintenance, local operations and assigned improvements required
for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of fossil and hydro generating facilities and equipment including but not
limited to turbine-generators, dams, spill gates, water intakes and conveyances, buildings and structures, and
associated electrical and mechanical auxiliary equipment within the RG&E service area. Responsible for
supervision and work planning of skilled technicians that perform electrical, mechanical, instrument and control,
operating and hydro license/regulatory related program duties. Ensures all work is done safely and efficiently in
support of defined business goals.


1. Supervises, plans, schedules, assigns and directs the work of skilled field workers to operate, maintain and,
as-assigned, modify hydro facilities.

2. Ensures activities and facilities are in compliance with company policies, programs, procedures and practices as
well as hydro license, regulatory and environmental requirements.

3. Coordinates the execution of hydro facility and equipment preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance,
routine and special inspections, equipment testing and calibrations, problem investigations and local operations.

4. Performs routine day-to-day supervisory-related activities and other work as assigned related to hydro safety,
operating, maintenance, capital investment, license/regulatory and external outreach related-programs.

5. Trains personnel in theoretical and practical aspects of operating and maintaining assigned hydro facilities and
identifies skilled training needs of assigned personnel.

6. Coordinates and integrates assigned work with other stakeholders in the department and across AVANGRID
business areas. Directs internal and external crews in the execution of assigned work.

7. Coordinates for assigned crew and participates in safety training, inspections and documentation. Conducts
incident investigations.

8. Communicates and interacts directly with business area leaders and internal and external stakeholders.

9. Provides direction and support to emergency and problem situations on an as-needed 24 hour basis including
but not limited to equipment trouble and response required of the Rochester Hydro Emergency Action Plan and the
Company's electric and gas storm response plans. Has a storm response role and participates in Company storm

10. Evaluates and documents employee performance. Participates in and implements resolution of employee
related matters as necessary.

• 10 years in generation operations and/or maintenance including 5 years' experience in hydro or equivalent
• Supervisory experience

Required Education:
• High school or GED, Associates degree is desirable

Required Experience:
• 10 years in generation including 5 years in hydro or equivalent
