Serve as liaison between the business area and IT staff and/or system vendors as required. Research and analyze
business area requests to define and document business requirements and develop solutions employing
technology as appropriate. Assist in assessing the impact of proposed solutions or enhancements to other systems
or business areas. Coordinate development, testing, and implementation of system changes with IT (e.g., defining
requirements, developing work plans, coordinating testing and cut-over to production, and training end users).
Position requires heavy testing and configuring of applications specific to Standard Field, RMS and Electric
Systems. Position provides heavy end-user support on a daily basis, instruct

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide first level of support to the Business Area with emphasis on various technologies used and systems
deployed by that area. This includes knowledge of system operations, data retrieval and reporting via UI standard
querying and reporting tools.

• Perform system administration tasks including but not limited to, application security, configuration, customize,
maintenance, upgrades, debugging, reporting, issue resolution with IT and/or system vendors and compliance with
audit & regulatory controls.

• Act as liaison and communicate effectively with business users, vendors, and IT to resolve systems/application
needs and issues. Assist in assessing impacts of any application or system changes on business operations and
other applications and systems.

• Work with the business area to establish needs, priorities, functionality, standards, procedures, and
documentation for technical solutions. Ensure that the business requirements of the proposed solution are

incorporated into design specifications.

• Create testing strategies for proposed solutions and coordinate resources to plan and execute user acceptance

• Coordinate system training for users. Provide training as required by the business area. Provide day to day
support for user's questions/problems.

• Research business areas current systems/applications and processes to identify potential risks and opportunity
to promote process improvements based on best business practices and utilizing functionality within UI business

• Proactively follow research and developments related to utility related business applications. Working closely
with IT and business area stakeholders, make recommendations, and participate in defining strategic direction for
utility solutions.

• Provide backup for other system administrator positions supporting utility applications, including device level
support and field crew support.

Education: BS/BA Degree
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science or other technical discipline. Certifications and/or Master's
Degree courses or graduate level training is desirable.

Experience: 7 years
Experience in a close technical support role of the business related to utility or high volume customer service entity.
Ability to work independently in complex systems with only general direction from supervision. Knowledge of
business area system administration and operations including data retrieval and reporting through vendor provided
software. Ability to lead the introduction, enhancement, maintenance, troubleshooting, debugging, testing and
training of new and existing technology in functional areas. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with
functional area personnel, IT and system vendors. Ability to provide close support to end users unfamiliar with
technology. Familiarity with the system development life-cycle and standard project management methodologies is
desirable. Experience with utility service applications, such as OMS, AVL, MWM, ARCOS, SAP, MVRS desirable
along with experience in SQL, dB admin functions, programming, Crystal Reports.
