Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

Executes decision-making authorities and establishes vision and direction for cyber security and cyber-related
resources and operations.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

• Acquire and manage the necessary resources, including leadership support, financial resources, and key security
personnel, to support cyber security goals and objectives and reduce overall organizational cyber risk. This position
is a senior level management position responsible for multiple layers of geographically dispersed skilled technical
staff including data privacy, training/awareness, third party risk management and cybersecurity compliance/auditing
• Communicate the value of cyber security throughout all levels of the organization stakeholders. The candidate
must have well developed management and leadership skills, well developed interpersonal skills, and have
executive level presentation and communication skills.
• Interface with external organizations (e.g., public affairs, law enforcement, regulators) and globally with Iberdrola
Corporate Security organization acting as a point of contact to ensure appropriate coordination and accurate
dissemination of information.
• Promote awareness of security issues among management and ensure sound security principles are reflected in
the organization's vision and goals. Design/integrate a cyber-strategy that outlines the vision, mission, and goals
that align with the organization's strategic plan.
• Oversee policy standards and implementation strategies to ensure procedures and guidelines comply with
cybersecurity policies. Recommend policy and coordinate review and approval.

• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the cybersecurity safeguards to ensure that they provide the intended
level of protection. Ensure that plans of actions and milestones or remediation plans are in place for vulnerabilities
identified during risk assessments, audits, inspections, etc.
• Administer cyber security frameworks including NIST security compliance standards, ISO 27000 and cyber
security maturity assessments.
• Oversee cyber security budget process and adherence to all budget plans, financial processes and resource


Education & Experience Required:

• BA or BS in Computer Science, Information Management, Cyber Security or related field, Masters or PhD a plus
• 10 years relevant experience
• Five years' experience in a leadership role


• Skill in communicating with all levels of management including Board members and global colleagues (e.g.,
interpersonal skills, approachability, effective listening skills, appropriate use of style and language for the

• Skill to remain aware of evolving technical infrastructures, tools and frameworks.
• Skill to use critical thinking to analyze organizational patterns and relationships.
• Ability to develop policy, plans, and strategy in compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and standards in
support of cyber security objectives.
• Ability to apply critical reading/thinking skills.
• Ability to understand rules, regulations, policies, and guidance relevant to cyber objectives and to exercise
exceptional judgment in interpretation and implementation.
• Ability to prioritize and allocate cybersecurity resources correctly and efficiently.
• Ability to understand technology, management, and leadership issues related to organization processes and
problem solving.
• Ability to build effective relationships for key stakeholders locally and globally.
