Description
The Balance of Plant Services (BOP) Project Manager is a key member of a 24/7 mission critical operations team
and will provide leadership and oversight during the engineering, procurement, construction and close-out phases
of BOP related projects along with responsibility for the scheduling of BOP related maintenance activities. The ideal
candidate will have extensive working experience, along with an institutional knowledge and understanding of
substations, collector system and various electrical maintenance activities as well as managing balance of plant
improvement initiatives driven by best practices and changing business requirements.

Responsibilities and duties include:
• Manage BOP projects during the engineering, procurement, construction and close-out phases to ensure that
safety, quality, cost, and schedule goals are met.
• Provide all project management deliverables including development, scope, budget and governance.
• Properly coordinate and schedule all BOP related maintenance activities with the various stakeholders such
as Plant Managers, Regional Directors, National Control Center and Asset Managers. Ensuring at all times high
levels of coordination and awareness across the group.
• Lead a team of internal and external professionals who provide technical expertise and support through
design, construction, and commissioning.
• Ensure that project goals are met safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• A solid understanding of substations, collector systems, and various electrical maintenance activities.
• Develop, negotiate, and manage engineering and construction contracts, including clearly defining scope,
schedule and cost management requirements.
• Complete all necessary purchasing processes in SAP; including requisitions, purchase orders, change
orders.
• Coordinate during construction the technical and commercial aspects of BOP related equipment procurement
agreements to ensure compliance and to build effective team collaboration with vender representatives.
• Maintain a focus on project budgets for cash flow, earned value, and potential risks. Coordinate with the
various stakeholders for major invoices and quarterly budgeting.

• Provide weekly and monthly status reports to the Company's senior management on project progress and
schedule, capital budget forecasting and issues affecting projects and/or maintenances.
• Facilitate effective feedback to internal and external resources to identify efficiencies and improvements in
project and/or maintenance quality, reliability, costs, schedule or other parameters that enhance Company's
strategic initiatives.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or the equivalent combination of education and
experience.
• 5+ years' experience in project management, within energy, power, utility or related industries.
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with strong focus on teamwork and collaboration with a
broad range of work groups.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office; Primavera or MS Project scheduling tools; and, SAP cost management
software,
• As it related to the job description, 5+ years' experience in or around power plants, substations or collector
distribution systems (the company may consider candidates with less experience at a lower level)
• Proven ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with all levels of management, operations staff,
and technical personnel in an easy to understand yet precise format.
• High energy and ability to work with little direction
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with concurrent scheduling demands.
• Ability to travel 25%.

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Advanced degrees in engineering or business.
• Knowledge of electric utility design and operations standards.
• Advanced computer skills such as AutoCAD software.
