Description
The Permitting Manager will report to the Kitty Hawk Project Director and will be focused on tasks relating to the
preparation and submission of required Site Assessment Plan ("SAP") and Construction and Operations Plan
("COP") in addition to other Federal, State and Local permitting and environmental compliance delivery and
support. All tasks will be done in coordination with company personnel in support of Development and Construction
of the offshore wind energy project(s) in the Kitty Hawk wind energy area.

The individual will be working as part of a global business with current activities across Europe and the United
States. The position will require travel to various locations, predominantly within the US.

Responsibilities include:
• Develop environmental study and permitting strategies for specific projects in consultation with Kitty Hawk Project
Director, internal and external development team, technical, construction and operations staff.
• Manage and coordinate activities within the Company and with outside consultants to prepare and submit SAP,
COP, and other all regulatory, siting and environmental requirements, permits and approvals needed to construct,
operate, maintain and decommission offshore wind energy projects in the Kitty Hawk wind energy area.
• Prepare milestone schedules, budgets and staffing requirements to complete permitting and compliance on
assigned projects and assets.
• Work closely with Kitty Hawk Project Director, development team and external consultants in the preparation of
applications to agencies; represent Company's position in hearings and workshops select and manage consultants;
assist the project public relations strategy; and provide documentation for siting, land use, wetland, and wildlife
permits; represent the Company in policy discussions and developments regarding renewables permitting.
• Negotiate with wildlife, land use, and other regulatory agencies to achieve acceptable permit conditions consistent
with project and Company goals, schedules, costs, and environmental protection.
• Coordinate with Construction to assist in maintaining permit compliance of projects.
• Coordinate with Procurement on RFP process and manage purchase orders and invoicing through SAP
accounting system, adhering to effective internal controls.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Business or the equivalent combination
of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in energy project permitting and environmental review. (The company may consider
candidates with less experience at a lower level)
• Demonstrated problem solving, negotiating and oral and written communication skills.
• Experience and knowledge of onshore and offshore environmental permitting regulations for eastern United
States and direct experience of working with Federal and State regulatory agencies. (internal candidates may be
considered without offshore permitting experience)
• Ability to work independently to meet deliverables.

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

• Advanced degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Business or comparable degree.
• Expertise in NEPA and/or other state and local land use and environmental permitting processes.
