Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, and other relationships:
Responsible for coordinating owner engineering activities between several substation projects located in New York,
by managing resources requirements, priorities, and internal/external resource requirements. Manages the System
Ops Engineering Department by leading, planning, directing, controlling and measuring the efforts to provide owner
engineering support to all the capital projects to be developed in System Ops. This includes engineering support
during the design, construction, operation and maintenance phase of the electric substation facilities.
Responsibilities include accomplishment of broad corporate objectives and department goals, budget management
for substation projects. Must manage organizational performance to maximize the effectiveness of capital projects
and engineering studies, which improve reliability and operating efficiency. Provides technical advice to senior
management when required.

Major Roles and Responsibilities (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):
• Supervises subordinate senior staff and contracted external resources. Sets department goals and strategic
direction and initiates action plans, engineering studies and assignments to accomplish goals. Provides technical
support, guidance, coaching and counseling toward effective performance and appraises individual performance.
Develops organizational performance measures, initiates actions to enhance performance, reviews work
processes, systems, procedures and practices and directs changes to improve productivity or control costs.
• Oversees the development of engineering & reliability studies and capital projects, programs and budgets.
Analyzes broad technical alternatives to develop long-range technical direction. Approves projects, executes
contracts and authorizes expenditures within LOSA. Initiates actions to ensure continuity of service, high reliability
and cost-effective engineering, design and technical support for construction of transmission towers and related
structures. Assures that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Determines engineering staffing needs. Obtains approval for internal resource requirements and works with
engineering firms to get external resources as needed.
• Controls engineering department budget.
• Provides technical support to System Ops project group and coordinate the engineering design requirements with

other departments (P&T, OT, ...)
• Manage engineering implementation, including: cost estimating, project scheduling, permit integration into project
plans, engineering document control, and other activities necessary during engineering, construction, and
operational phases of a project.
• Serve as a member of the project management team which oversees all implementation activities for assigned
renewable energy projects.
• Contribute to development and maintenance of design standards and criteria for project infrastructure.
• Oversee quality aspects of engineering and construction, including ensuring compliance with design standards
and accuracy of final documentation and test data.
• Manage and provide oversight of external professionals who provide technical expertise and project support
through development, design, construction, and operations.
• Coordinate and maintain project documentation for due diligence review by an independent engineering firm.
• Provide technical support to plant operations as may be required for project infrastructure, facilities and systems.
• Ensure all relevant internal controls are followed. Develop new controls as needed.

Required qualifications:
• Master Degree in a specific engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with a protection and control engineering background.
• Minimum 8 years in project engineering and/or construction.
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to understand technical documentation related to energy projects such as permitting documents, local
codes and regulations, civil designs construction specifications
• Proficiency using personal computer tools such as MS Office, Word, Excel, MS Project, Visio, AutoCad, SAP and
other database managements systems.
• Ability and willingness to travel 10 % of the time.
