Execute and assist in the evolution of the AVANGRID Security strategy. Define, design, implement, maintain,
manage, and report on the IT Security Program.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

• Develop, implement, manage, present, and report on AVANGRID IT Security Program.
• Provide leadership, manage, and provide guidance to the IT security team, collaborate and support the global
security team, and direct security vendors supporting the program.
• Develop, refine, and ensure compliance with a set of security-related policies, processes/procedures, and
• Identify, assess, and prioritize threats based on possible impact, system vulnerabilities, and probability of
occurrence. For higher priority threats, develop and implement security/mitigation measures.
• Respond immediately to security related incidents; Lead/coordinate investigations for security-related incidents
and provide a thorough post-event analysis.
• Lead/participate in security assessments, e.g. C2M2, and audits.
• Develop and implement IT security performance measures/metrics and regularly report on the status of
AVANGRID IT Security Program.
• Administer the IT Security budget and lead IT Security procurement activities.
• Assess, test, and select new security products and technologies; Provide security requirements and assessment
for IT related projects.
• Function as subject matter expert on IT security; and consult and provide security-related
guidance/recommendations to internal customers (i.e. business units) / stake holders.
• Act as a key liaison between IT and other key stakeholders of the company for security related initiatives.

• Coordinate with and provide security-related guidance within the overall IT team (e.g. operations, applications,
infrastructure, and compliance).
• Provide leadership and oversight for security related initiatives.
• Strong experience with security operations, security event and incident management, and vulnerability
• Other duties as assigned.


Education & Experience Required:

BS/BA degree in Business, IT/Computer Science or related field. Professional Certifications in IT/Cyber Security
preferred. Will consider additional years of relevant experience in lieu of the degree requirement.

Experience shall include a minimum of five years in a supervisory/managerial role and minimum of eight years in IT
security. The candidate must have a strong background in information technology and a clear understanding of the
challenges of Information Security. Extensive knowledge of IT security risks, threat identification, assessment,
mitigation measures and compliance/security controls is required. Knowledge of Information Security tools
necessary for the identification, assessment, mitigation & monitoring of potential security threats a must. The
candidate is required to have excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve security risks
both internal & external.


The candidate must have excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and team building skills with the goal
of developing security solutions in collaboration with other information technology and security professionals.

Must be self-directed and motivated, flexible, capable of managing with changing priorities, collaborate well with
international teams, and possess strong communications and presentation skills. Some international travel is
