The IT Applications Manager is responsible for a team that manages the oversight of IT applications used to
support the Construction and Operations functions of the Avangrid Renewables organization. This person is
responsible for the IT project management and coordination of efforts, maintaining proper tracking and delivery of
those efforts in coordination with local, national and global functions. This person will oversee the portfolio of IT
applications projects managing the resource capacity to ensure that resources are available to meet the timelines
as agreed upon with the business.

The role supports feasibility studies, proof of concept, systems design, system implementation and handover to
operational support activities required to support the functions of the organizations. This role also supports annual
project demand management for the Avangrid Renewables organization, regularly meeting with business
stakeholders to gather new ideas for future projects and report on current status. The position is responsible for all
people management activities including annual performance management and continuous mentoring for all staff,
developing existing talent and recruiting new talent.

• Ability to oversee and participate in the management of a comprehensive IT department that includes several
line areas or functional work groups of significant depth and complexity.

• Management responsibility for the services and activities of the project teams which are located in Portland,


• Ensure that a coordinated approach is taken to deployment of “best practice” for Global Renewables IT

• Ownership of the project demand management for the IT group.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, meet budgets and adjust to changing priorities.

• Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to influence at the executive level.

• Plan, direct, coordinate and review the work for assigned groups and staff; assign projects, review and
evaluate work product, identify and resolve problems.

• Effectively balance project demand against staff availability and utilize contractual resources efficiently where

• Manage and participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities for
assigned projects, services, and functional areas within the department.

• Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery and recommend appropriate service
and staffing levels.

• Participate in the development and administration of the IT annual budget as well as ensuring that costs are
kept within budget.

• Monitor the ongoing effective operation of internal controls, SOX compliance and anti-fraud processes.

• Perform a variety of tasks and have a proven ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Provide business and technical expertise to the user community.

• Build and sustain strong relationships with key local and global stakeholders.

• Build and sustain strong relationships with vendors that provide services to this group.

• Develop processes and documentation for operational support of new and existing applications.

• Responsible for managing the capital and operational budgets and costs associated with this IT area.


• 5+ years of experience in systems analysis/design and implementation.

• 2+ years of experience with managing teams.

• Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.

• Strong teamwork skills with self-motivation to achieve success.

• Strong project management, customer service and conflict management skills.

• Strong knowledge of IT concepts, practices, controls and procedures.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both business
and technical personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of SAP.

• Knowledge of the operational functions of a power generation organization and the systems and networks
required to support these functions.
