Job Title: Manager- Financial Analysis

This leadership position reports to the Director of Investments and Long-term Planning and is responsible for
business planning, investment reporting, and other business analysis. Key functions include maintenance of the
long-term plan of Avangrid Renewables and updating to reflect the ever changing business. Lead impairment
testing for both IFRS and GAAP. Position requires ability to form senior management relationships, including US
Renewables business (CEO, Vice Presidents), IUSA Control, and Renewables and Corporate Control in Spain.
Key Responsibilities
• Business planning - Enhance, develop, and implement systems/processes for: long term plans to support
delivery of company strategy, complex financial models for business valuation and annual impairment testing
processes - IFRS & GAAP.
• Maintain consistency of long term models with changing business views.
• Recommend, develop, and implement process improvements.
• Monitor business developments and quantify impact on the plans and business valuation.
• Lead and support projects to enhance accuracy and usefulness of financial projections.
• Control Project Review - Perform a review of economics and projected financial results for projects to be
sent to the Avangrid Management Committee. Summary of the economics, wind farm design, accounting issues,
tax issues, permitting status, credit requirements, and PPA terms. Review project models, presentations, PPAs,
and Dossier documents.
• Assist in complex analyses to support senior management and participate in special projects.
• Provide accounting and finance insights for senior management.
• Core competencies include detailed understanding or extensive experience with: Investment and project
• Component cost elements of a typical project budget, Investment appraisal process (what costs and benefits
are relevant, what is meant by Net Present Value, Discounted Cash Flow, and Internal Rate of Return).
Additional Responsibilities
• Double entry process, income statement, balance sheet, and cash flows.
• Preparing project forecasts.

• Maintain effective internal controls over goodwill and asset impairment modeling and testing (under Sarbanes
/ Oxley).
• Effect of accruals and their relevance to actual cost reporting
• Creating & extracting financial reports from SAP

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience preparing financial planning and valuation models in Excel.
• Capable of building Excel-based financial models that are well designed, intelligently structured, easy for
others to work with, and withstand audit scrutiny.
• 10+ years broad-based finance experience.
• Understanding of energy markets, specifically as it relates to power.
• Strong accounting/reporting background (CPA or CFA preferred).
• Expertise with SAP, BPC, Essbase or similar reporting & budgeting tools.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Excel.
• Managerial experience.
