Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

The engineer will lead teams/projects that solve complex problems taking a broad perspective to identify innovativesolutions. Able to work independently with guidance on only the most complex tasks.

Participates and represents UI and CMP on Industry associations. Follow updates in research and developmentstaking place in the power industry, through training and industry associations.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):
•Perform detailed, complex engineering analyses, designs and calculations using standard methodology &principles & other viable approaches.
•Develop alternate methods or design concepts to resolve problems or to improve processes/services.
•Solves complex Protection & Control (P&C) engineering problems.
•Utilizes a broad prospective to investigate and identify innovative solutions.
•Prepare, maintain, & understand drawings(e.g.. schematics, one-line & wiring diagrams). Develop & specifyequipment, assemble documents & other requirements for assignments of complex level of difficulty usingdepth/breadth of expertise in own discipline.
•Serve as SME for equipment of extreme importance to UI and CMP (e.g. SCADA & relays). Interpret

internal/external business issues and recommend best practices and/or process improvements.
•Participate in Industry associations.
•Lead teams, mentor & review engineering work of others. Anticipates & make recommendations with respect tocustomer & stakeholder needs. Explains difficult concepts & influences others. May be required to makepresentations to regulatory/public entities.
•Lead P&C Engineering teams to complete assigned tasks and projects. Assist in guiding and mentoring engineersin P&C design and engineering development. Manages and provides direction for resources outside of thedepartment.
•Leads others to specify & design systems to resolve complex problems in non-std situations & develop creativesolutions.
•Independently apply design stds., industry codes, design criteria, guidelines & UI polices/procedures.
•Possesses an in depth knowledge and interprets processes and standards related to P&C engineering.
•Recommends solutions and best practices where appropriate. Represents P&C on projects, task forces andstudies.
•Develop business cases & manage projects/processes/initiatives or teams in accordance with applicable Avangridguidelines.
•Coordinate phases of engineering for assigned portions of a project/program.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:Education & Experience Required:
•Education: BS/BA Degree with a minimum of 5-7 years industry experience
•Requires a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET (or equivalent) accreditedcollege/university, 5-7 years’ experience performing engineering duties or an AS degree with 11 years’ experienceperforming engineering duties.

•Possess a depth and breadth of experience in protection and control engineering and knowledge ofinternal/external business and regulatory issues. Maintains knowledge of leading edge techniques or technologythrough participation in professional associations.
•Able to explain difficult concepts and influence others to change.
•Able to communicate orally or in writing to regulatory and/or public entities.
•Able to lead a Team or mentor others.
