This individual will be responsible for supporting the operations of Avangrid’s Wind Turbine and Solar PV fleet withan emphasis on controls, software, power quality, power conversion, and grid interaction.
• Organize and lead interdepartmental and cross-functional projects with the aim of optimizing performanceand reducing operational costs of Power Converters, Control Systems, and Software within Avangrid’s Wind andSolar fleet.
• Carry out investigations to identify anomalies and investigate failures. Develop hypothesis regarding rootcause, identify corrective measures, and organize testing and measurement campaigns to evaluate and validatethese measures.
• Identify priorities related to compliance and integration of Avangrid’s facilties onto the BES and preparepresentations to business leaders to secure funding and resources to address these priorities.
• Manage projects related to the above and provide regular communication to internal stakeholders on currentprogress and future activities in these areas.
• Identify, qualify, and manage external professionals and consultants as necessary in order to support effortsand investigations in the areas above.
• Represent Avangrid at industry forums related to the integration of Renewables on to the BES. Participate inthe development of standards and provide feedback to regulatory bodies regarding the same.
• Organize and lead meetings and calls with original equipment manufacturers and service providers to ensurequality and compliance with contractual obligations.
• Visit generating plants and suppliers as required to investigate issues first hand.
• Serve as a mentor to more junior engineers providing assistance, technical explanation and feedback.

• BS Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in power system, controls and/or power conversion.
• 8 years' experience with electrical generation.
• Experience with electrical measurement system setup and data analysis.
• Familiarity with electrical system modeling software, e.g. Power World, PSSE, PSCAD, etc.
• Demonstrated record of superior academic and professional performance.
• Expertise with electrical schematics / one-line diagrams.
• Ability to climb 100 meter tall steel towers on occasional basis to perform root cause analysis investigation onturbine component failures.
• Advanced computer skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, email, facility control, data management,CAD, and reporting systems.
• Possession of comprehensive writing skills for upwards reporting.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limitedstandardization exists.
• Familiarity with mechanical and electronic testing equipment. (i.e. voltage testers, amp clamps,oscilloscopes, meggers, and various hand and power tools.)
• Must work well under pressure from job demands, multi-tasking ability essential.
• Requires approximately 10% - 20% travel.

Preference maybe given to candidates with the following:
• Ability to speak, write, and understand Spanish.
• Experience with Renewables
