Description
JOB SUMMARY:

Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

• Establishes, administers and monitors company-wide standards, procedures and performance to minimize risk
and ensure compliance with all AVANGRID Operational Smart Grids (OSG) requirements.
• Supports and helps manage the implementation and on-going coordination of AVANGRID compliance framework
with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC),
Regional Reliability Organizations (RROs), Electric Reliability Organizations (EROs) and applicable state regulatory
and public service agencies.
• Ensures that all OSG compliance-related documentation is maintained and updated to reflect current business
processes and procedures.
• Ensures compliance with AVANGRID policies and procedures.
• Administers programs and processes to assure regulatory compliance with applicable standards and functions as
a team member for internal and external audit preparation.
• Provides support to other AVANGRID and OSG teams as necessary.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

• Develop corporate compliance programs and procedures that comply with standards and requirements as
specified by (but not limited to) FERC, NERC, RROs, EROs, state public service agencies, etc.
• Support the AVANGRID NERC Compliance Office (NCO) programs and initiatives; includes conduct of
compliance audits, mitigation potential non-compliance (PNC) issues, self-reporting of PNCs, resolution of Areas of
Concern (AOC) and other related activities.
• Anticipate and interpret NERC-related developments and future changes, additions and deletions to compliance

requirements.
• Where applicable, participate in internal and external, committees, workshops, task forces and groups that support
OSG Compliance activities.
• Ensure that all OSG compliance-related policies and procedures are kept timely and up-to-date, including the
retention of evidentiary compliance documents and reports.
• Ensure that all OSG Compliance documentation and procedures are consistent with AVANGRID business
practices and guidelines as well as the Smart Grids business unit.
• Collaborate with other OSG groups and AVANGRID inter-company groups as necessary to develop OSG-related
compliance procedures and documents for OSG.
• Work cross-functionally with teams inside and outside of OSG.
• Support compliance-related Audits (internal and external); including evidence collection, reporting and active
participation where applicable and appropriate.
• Support AVANGRID Business Area Leader (BAL) programs and certifications.
• Contribute to special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
• Help manage the personnel tracking and credentials for Smart Grids personnel.
• Help manage physical and cyber access and revocation programs for AVANGRID personnel and contractors.
• Develop and maintain Compliance-related training programs and materials with outreach to applicable personnel
and maintenance of required credentials.
• Participate in mandatory Incident Response (IR), Disaster Recovery (SR), Business Continuity Plan (BCP), Storm
support and other emergency activities.
• Support the AVANGRID Records & Information Management (RIM) program including Smart Grids Records
Retention Schedules.
• Promote Best Practices throughout the organization.
• Promote and support Corporate and departmental safety programs and initiatives.
• Seek continuous improvement through supplemental educational resources provided by the Company and/or
required by the Company.

Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience Required:

• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of three years relevant experience preferred.
• Associates Degree with a minimum of five years relevant experience required.
• Preferred majors: Engineering or Computer Science.
• Demonstrated experience involves performing complex analysis, developing formal documentation, technical
reports and presentations. Experience with graphics and electronic documentation management tools is a plus.

Skills/Abilities:

• Demonstrated strong written and oral communications skills; strong technical writing abilities is also a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to perform data analysis.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Effective team-building, negotiation and consensus-building skills.
