Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

Serves as the lead in the compliance, accounting (GAAP and IFRS), regulatory ratemaking, and budgeting
functions for Non-income Taxes (all taxes other than Income taxes and Payroll taxes), for all AVANGRID affiliates.
Prepares tax data and filings for proper compliance of over $300M annually. Provides guidance to others as
required and takes lead for key tax-related implementation projects. This position is deadline focused and requires
overtime as needed.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

1. Compile, analyze, and prepare state and local sales and use tax returns and assist with the same for other tax
types as directed.

2. Ensures that work-plan, budget, and compliance comply with tax laws and corporate business plans and

3. Assist in all aspects of audits as directed by leadership team.

4. Provides guidance and support to Analysts in the filing of returns, processing of payments, and accounting
(GAAP/IFRS) for taxes.

5. Helps to compile tax reports for senior management and for regulatory purposes.

6. Provides timely and accurate guidance related to taxes for procurement, business development, ratemaking,
budgeting, and legislative analysis as requested.

7. Provides leadership in the research of tax issues and the monitoring of legislation for compliance purposes.

8. Uses best practices related to tax reporting, tax return preparation, and Sarbanes Oxley 404 compliance as


Education & Experience Required:

• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of three years relevant accounting, tax, or utility, or accounting experience
preferred. Associates Degree with a minimum of five years relevant tax, utility, or accounting experience required.
• Knowledge of accounting, sales & use tax, property tax, gross receipts tax or miscellaneous taxes, as well as, of
regulatory accounting and regulatory ratemaking a plus.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong tax research and analytical skills
• Strong Excel and other computer application skills
• Experience with Sabrix (Thomson Reuters OneSource) and SAP preferred
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner
• Works well in a team environment
• Experience with Sabrix (Thomson Reuters OneSource) and SAP preferred
