Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

Provides senior level experience and tactical support related to Environmental Compliance for a variety of projects
and ongoing operations for Avangrid Networks and its subsidiaries. This position will provide oversight on
compliance and coordinates completion of project environmental tasks using internal and external resources.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

•Coordinating/overseeing contractors and consultants, negotiating contract bids and managing projects costs.
Interface with the appropriate regulatory agencies, minimizing Corporate risk and public liabilities
•Maintain compliance with environmental permits, registrations, and licenses for day-to-day operations and/or
•Develops Corporate compliance and environmental management programs, including environmental procedures
that minimize risks and help to improve the Company's environmental performance
•Manage the testing, handling and disposal of regulated and hazardous materials.
•Provides support during regulatory audits/inspections
•Function as the liaison to local health departments and local municipalities with regard to environmental issues.
•Conducts facility compliance audits for adherence to applicable environmental regulations.
•Serves as a technical expert in the area of environmental matters.
•Manage specific property remediation activities/projects/substation removals.
•Leads root cause investigations related to environmental incidents and provides executive level reports
•Leads and/or participates in best practice groups and other initiatives led by the Corporation (Iberdrola) as required

•Prepares environmental compliance reports and tracks regulations and standards
•Review environmental regulations on an ongoing basis and prepare Operating Procedures as required.
•Respond to customer requests for environmental information regarding company facilities.
•Coordinate PCB management, SPCC plan management, Underground Storage Tank (UST) Management, etc.
•Conducts employee environmental training as required by the business.
•Provide 24-hour emergency spill response support.
•Manage ISO 14001 standard processes and requirements as needed.


Education & Experience Required:

•Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA) from an accredited college/university in Environmental Engineering, Environmental
Science, or a related field.
•Requires a minimum of seven years of experience in performing commercial or industrial environmental
compliance, and remediation support work, with direct experience in environmental services within a regulated
utility preferred.
•A very strong applied understanding of Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations is required.
•Professional Engineer (PE) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) professional designations


•Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create an effective presentation
•In-depth knowledge of the ISO certification and implementation process
•Strong project management skills and experience and will have demonstrated the ability to guide, educate and
influence colleagues to adopt necessary processes
•In-depth knowledge of Environmental Federal, State and Local regulations
•Able to work independently, and exercise considerable judgment and decision-making skills
•Able to direct outside contractors/consultants and evaluate their progress
•Strong training, organizational and negotiation skills
•Able to work under tight deadlines with changing priorities
•Able to deal successfully with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders
