DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:

Applies asset strategies and policies in assigned asset areas usingperformance and condition information in accordance with best practice.May assist with the development of asset management policies andstrategies. May recommend investment strategies and asset replacementprograms that maximize system performance and financial outcomes.Takes a lead role in the performance of more complex assessments andmanipulation of data. This position encompasses cross companyresponsibility, each OPCO having variations in data availability,quality, and approaches, must address errors in order to gather data forasset assessment purposes. Position is responsible for the furtherdevelopment of the company’s assessment and reporting capabilities, datamining capabilities, to complete complex analysis and reporting.Position requires the ability to have in-depth interface with externalconsultants and a variety of internal functional groups.


1. Leads initiatives to gather, manipulate, analyze, and providereporting of asset data. Works with large and often times incompletedata sets. Develop variations of analytical and reporting approaches tobest communicate asset management information as well as enhance abilityto utilize data in the application of asset management strategies

2. Supports reliability improvement analysis including work withdefective equipment, outage database data, and circuit performance data.

3. Analyzes asset condition data and plans programs consistent with bestpractices to provide guidance to expenditure planning andprioritization. Risks will also be considered in the analysis. Mayrecommend and develop programs and strategies including 10 year assetmanagement and replacement recommendations

4. Using best practices, applies asset management approaches withinregulatory, legal, and other specified parameters that optimize the useof assets in accordance with the asset management policy.

5. Interacts with subject matter experts to make sure asset managementpractices are effective, data is properly gathered and analyzed,applications are structured for optimum effectiveness, and risks areappropriately considered and managed

6. Effectively communicates asset management plans and the strategiesand policies that guided the creation of the plans to internalstakeholders. May be required to also present and advocate for theplans externally.

7. Mentors and trains junior members of the Asset Managementorganization.

8. Drives creative solutions and communicate/suggest best practices tomanagement and colleagues.

9. Maintains up-to-date documentation and procedures.

10. Participates in global and local projects.


Education & Experience Required:

• Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experiencerequired. Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 3 years relevantexperience preferred.
• Experience in large database construction, manipulation, and dataextraction desired.
• SAP/BW experience required.

• GIS data set experience desired.
• Knowledge of energy delivery system design and operation desired.
• Understanding of maintenance and asset management principles desired.

• Other maintenance and asset management training certifications wouldbe beneficial.


• Proactive and Results oriented.
• Excellent data analysis skills required.
• Proficient in the use of software such as Excel, Access, andPowerPoint.
• Strong SAP skills are desired.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills required.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to travel to other locations required.
