Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

This position will help evaluate collection effectiveness in order to mitigate uncollectible risk and proactively adjust
collection strategies. This position will provide the data and detailed analysis required to validate uncollectible
expense and explain
variances; hardship counts and arrearages, chargeoffs/recoveries and reserve adjustments. Establishes analysis
requirements for complex analysis. Describes a range of options, makes recommendations and applies optimal
solutions. Directs the research, analysis and communication of collection effectiveness within the team and to
company stakeholders. Oversees the coordination of analytic efforts to attain project objectives, and directs and
integrates the work of collection analysts and consultants. May deliver presentations of financial results or
variances to executive management. May represent UIL's position to external audiences, including regulatory or
legislative forums.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

• Support the Manager of Revenue Recovery charge off related data requests and or analysis to meet weekly,
monthly or ad hoc deliverables.
• Utilize SAP and BW reporting tools to extract and analyze information which have a direct impact on uncollectible
expense on daily, weekly, monthly or ad hoc basis.
• Effectively analyze Accounts Receivable aging reports, charge-off/recovery, hardship and shut-offs to explain
variances and project uncollectible expense.
• Prepare the monthly uncollectible variance analysis.
• Prepare the monthly budget variance analysis for collection vendor expenses.

• Prepare monthly deferred hardship account reconciliation.
• Provide the weekly and monthly operating reports.
• Provide data requests, analysis and support regulatory or legislated filings as needed.
• Analyze data output, identify anomalies that may drive inefficiencies, and help create initiatives for process


Education & Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Requires seven years of experience in performing analysis in an accounting or credit or collections environment
which includes collaboration with the manager and director of Collections and the Finance department.
• SAP proficiency required.


• Must have the ability to produce reports and create effective presentations.
• Other requirements include strong analytical & quantitative skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have expert Excel and Microsoft office suite skills.
• Must be self-directed.
