The WTG Technical Lead is a critical role within the Offshore Business focussing on the delivery of substantialpackages within offshore projects in the UK and overseas (USA, Germany, France...), working with MultinationalJoint Venture Partner(s) and Contractors ensuring that SPR’s/ Iberdrola position is suitably protected at anyagreements.

Belonging to the EPC Services Team and Reporting to the WTG Department Manager, the WTG Technical Leadwill be responsible to provide support to the WTG Department on all mechanical/electrical/SCADA/certification/HSErelated issues, supported mainly by the Mechanical/Electrical/SCADA Engineers (if contracted) and support theWTG team during the negotiation and execution of the Saint Brieuc WF in France.

The WTG Technical Lead will provide support for defining delivery strategies and plans, tendering, negotiating andmanaging multi-million offshore delivery contracts, planning and implementing delivery sites and logistics, leadingdelivery phase including management of multiple offshore contractors and associated interfaces, defining companyand business standards and acceptance criteria, and ensuring quality, best practices and excellent H&SEperformance are applied.

The individual will be working as part of a global business with activities in many countries across Europe and therest of the world. The position may require frequent travel to various locations in France and overseas and duringdevelopment, contracting and delivery of substantial packages the individual should be prepared to manage teamsworking at different project locations.

Accountability Statements


•Mechanical, Electrical and SCADA interface management.
•Coordinate and answer to all internal/external technical queries and communication notes.
•Report to WTG Department Manager and WTG Package Manager/Deputy in St Brieuc WF. Advise WTGDepartment Manager and WTG Package Manager/Deputy in St Brieuc WF on the impact of technical risks anddecisions to be taken and the feasibility of recommended solutions.


•Attend to the Progress Meeting both internal and with the Turbine Contractor.
•Support to Grid compliance works. Attend to meetings with TSO and electrical team as required.
•Support all Commissioning activities and strategy definition.
•Support and attend (if required) Quality Inspections and visit Sub-suppliers.
•Review of non-conformities and evaluate proposed corrective actions.
•Organize and lead conference calls with Contractors to ensure their compliance with contractual obligations.Reviews root cause failure analysis and corrective action documentation.
•Elaborate technical reports and due diligences as needed.
•Review of all Mechanical, Electrical and SCADA documentation generated by the WTG Contractor (includingmethod statements and risks assessments).
•Elaborate a reference WTG manual and related checklist for quality inspections.
•Participate on the Snag list categorization.
•Participate on inspection Walk downs (if required).
•Implement offshore standards, procedures, tools, best practices and quality requirements for large scale offshorewindfarm substantial packages, to be constructed across a number of countries throughout Europe and USA.
•Ensure the WTG delivery is technically appropriate and consistent with SPR strategy and delivered according tospecification, budget and timetable without compromising safety.
•Provide key and strategic technical advice, assessment and recommendations to the business providing keyknowledge, lessons learned and support to the substantial packages throughout the whole life cycle (developmentto decommissioning) to support the business plan delivery.
•Coordinate with the HSE team to develop HSE strategy for offshore windfarm delivery and ensure a high standardof health and safety awareness is maintained. Raise any HSE concerns.
•Ensure all lessons learnt regarding offshore technical delivery are captured and shared within the WTGdepartment team.
•Support the TSA negotiation and execution, focused on the revision of both Employer’s Requirements andContractor Documents, identifying key dates and interfaces.
•Support the measurement campaign to check the tower/TP’s flanges ovality and flatness in liaison with theFoundations team.
•Support the Turbine development plan follow-up in terms of certification, prototype erection, attendance todedicated workshops, etc.
•Support the technical decisions to be made within the TSA execution in terms of Options, Variations and DesignModifications.

Requirements


•Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
•Experience of contracting, engineering design and delivery.
•Proven track record delivering complex multi-discipline substantial packages.
•Minimum of 8 years industry experience.
•Minimum of 5 years of offshore wind industry experience.
•Experience in managing high skilled teams.
•Cultural awareness.
•Flexibility to travel around Europe to attend meetings and work at different project sites and offices.


•IT literate with the ability to operate MS Office systems, SAP and other IT based project management software.
