Overview –A Gas Fitter - Corrosion is committed to safety and safe work practices. These individuals are responsible to ensurethe safety of themselves, coworkers, the general public, and Company property. They know and apply thefundamentals of Cathodic Protection and natural gas, and are sensitive to the hazards involved in this discipline.They demonstrate the ability to competently and effectively perform the duties of their job including the skills to thinkindependently, problem solving, and perform the operation of specialized equipment. They work closely with othersin a team environment including interaction with employees, customers, agencies, and trade allies in theperformance of their duties.

Position Requirements-General Requirements –
• Have a satisfactory work record.
• Execute the physical requirements to perform their job.
• Pass job tests; obtain licenses and certificates, and computer skills applicable to the work performed.
• Follow instructions and function in a team environment including effective interaction with supervisors,coworkers, customers, agencies, and trade allies.
• Respond to calls outside of regular hours in all types of weather and be available 24 hours a day and 7 daysa week to assist or respond to applicable emergency situations as able.
• Comply with the rules of the Company, as applicable.
• Ensure the safety of self, coworkers, the general public, and Company property.
• Represent the Company in a professional manner.
• Must have obtained a high school diploma or GED.Work Experience Requirements –
• Duties:
• Safely and effectively performs any and all work associated with the cathodic protection of the gas system.
• Must have had at least three years’ experience in gas operations and/or cathodic protection and/or havecompleted a formal training program and/or the ability to demonstrate these skills on an appropriate test.
• Must be able to understand and diagnose corrosion related problems as it applies to the gas system and

perform the work to correct these problems.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
• Requires Frequent local travel with occasional out of town requirements.
• Execute the physical demands to perform their job including much walking, both in an urban and ruralsettings.
• Responsible to perform required readings (i.e. annual test points, isolated services, casings, bonds, foreigncrossings) in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and procedures.
• Responsible for timely cathodic protection troubleshooting (i.e. low systems, shorted conditions)
• Responsible for timely creation of remediation work orders (i.e. install anodes, clear short, install insulator,repair / replace test station). Follows through with necessary departments to ensure timely completion.
• Responsible for maintenance and updates of corrosion control mapping systems in a timely fashion.
• Transmission and / or High Pressure Distribution gas mains:
• Performs annual CIS of scheduled piping.
• Works with Engineering on annual testing of scheduled HCA piping.
• Works with R.O.W. crews with follow up investigations or maintenance.
• Works closely with peers from other utilities to maintain CP at franchise gate stations.
• Responsible for performance of QA checks on reads performed by others
• Responsible for troubleshooting and maintenance of rectifiers
• Responsible for maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Responsible for some atmospheric inspections for bridge crossings, above ground piping that is dept.responsibility, or other exposed piping as needed in accordance with procedures.
• Understands use of unique equipment and tools used purposely for Cathodic Protection measures.
• Provides relevant support and/or inspection for cathodic protection needs on engineering / constructionprojects.
• Provides corrosion control-related support to other Departments as needed for maintenance / repair.
• Responds to arcing conditions on gas lines.
• Participates as needed in regulatory audits.
