Job Summary:

Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, and other relationships:

This is an entry level Engineering position that provides an overall understanding of a natural gas utility system
operation and in particular Gas Distribution System engineering areas. The Engineer uses existing procedures and
processes to solve routine or standard problems. Work is under relatively close supervision.

Major Roles and Responsibilities (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):
•Perform routine, basic engineering analyses, designs and calculations using existing procedures and processes to
solve routine or standard problems while applying limited judgment and discretion.
•Identifies solutions to straightforward requests.
•Develop basic engineering knowledge.
•Prepare, maintain, and understand drawings (e.g. schematics, one-line diagrams).
•Develop and specify equipment, assemble documents and other requirements for basic assignments.
•Develop competencies with departmental design standards, applicable engineering codes, design criteria and
guidelines, applicable industry codes, and CNG/SCG policies and processes.
•Develops team effectiveness skills within own work team.
•Communicates information and responds to standard internal/external customer requests with assistance from

•Prepare drawings, construction and material orders, and cost estimates for incorporation into final plans depending
on others for instruction, guidance and direction to meet deadlines.
•Works to specify and design systems to address basic situations.
•Apply design standards, industry codes, design criteria, guidelines and CNG/SCG polices/procedures to basic

•Works within technical guidelines and direction provided by others to meet deadlines. Contribute to projects or
process teams.
•Develops an awareness of costs related to own work and understands the company's business management

•Perform basic equipment selection research and recommendations with supportive documentation.
•Individual should have a basic knowledge of engineering theories, practices and procedures.
•Able to communicate information, ask questions and check for understanding. Able to work in a team environment
and learn key business processes.

Education & Experience Required:
•Education: BS/BA Degree
•Requires a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited college/ university.
Engineering degrees in Civil, Mechanical or Construction Management preferred.
