This individual will be responsible for supporting the operations of Avangrid's wind turbine and solar PV fleet with an
emphasis in resolving electrical issues related to rotating equipment, power distribution, and power conversion
systems. Activities include investigation and mitigation of component and sub-system failures, communication with
OEMs and component suppliers, and development of programs to improve performance and/or reduce operating
• Perform root cause failure investigations on Wind and Solar equipment such as motors generators, power
convereters/inverters, and other electrical sub-system components.
• Manage external professionals who provide technical expertise and project support in evaluation of
operational and performance issues.
• Organize and lead meetings and calls with suppliers to ensure their compliance with contractual obligations.
• Reviews root cause failure analysis and corrective action documentation.
• Visit generating plants and suppliers to investigate operational issues first hand.
• Organize measurement and testing campaigns in order to gather information and evaluate hypothesis as
required for the understanding and resolution issues.
• Organize and manage product improvement programs designed to increase performance and/or reduce
operational costs.

• BS Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in power systems, controls, and/or power conversion.
• 3 years' experience as it relates to the job description. (the company may consider a recent College
Graduate with no work experience at a lower level. ) .
• Ability to climb 100 meter tall steel towers on occasional basis to perform root cause analysis investigation on
turbine component failures.
• Ability to occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Advanced computer skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, email, facility control, data management,
CAD, and reporting systems. Must be able to use computerized diagnostic, analysis, and troubleshooting tools.
• Familiarity with elecrical schematics / one-line diagrams.
• Possession of comprehensive writing skills for upwards reporting.

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited
standardization exists.
• Familiarity with mechanical and electronic testing equipment. (i.e. voltage testers, amp clamps,
oscilloscopes, meghommeters, and various hand and power tools.)
• Adheres to effective internal controls.
• Must work well under pressure from job demands, multi-tasking ability essential.
• Requires approximately 10% travel.
• Experience with Renewable Energy generation systems.
• Experience with statistical analysis and probability distributions.
• Ability to speak, write, and understand Spanish.
