DescriptionAvangrid Renewables, LLC is seeking a Data Manager & Engineer/Meteorologist. The person in this position willwork in a high-energy, dynamic environment and manage meteorological data and conduct energy productionestimates. In this role, excellent communication and organizational skills, continuous improvement contributions,and strategic initiative are recognized and rewarded. This position is located in Portland, Oregon, and reports to theDirector of Energy Resources & Meteorology. The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
• Design meteorological monitoring campaigns to secure high-quality, representative data necessary toconduct accurate wind resource and energy production assessments.
• Actively support deployment and maintenance of measurements, such as: coordinating with contractors,managing internal procurement processes, and uploading and maintaining records in internal databases.
• Perform comprehensive quality control of meteorological data to ensure information is sound and defendablefor wind resource and energy assessments.
• Work closely and proactively with business development teams to identify and assess potential greenfieldsites and acquisitions based on available meteorological observations, numerical model simulations, andtopographic characteristics of an area.
• Conduct site visits at proposed wind farm sites
• Ensure measurement stations meet best-practice standards and through coordination with development andpermitting teams, comply with all internal, landowners, town, county, State, and/or Federal requirements.
• Conduct detailed analyses to quantify temporal, horizontal and vertical characteristics of the wind resource.
• Design well-informed wind farm turbine layouts optimized for energy capture, with consideration of internaldesign standards, constructability, sound, site constraints, and business variables.
• Conduct and interpret predictions of wind speed, wake loss, and energy production from commerciallyavailable software packages (OpenWind, MeteoDyn, etc).
• Derive long-term expected net energy production of proposed wind farms based on gross-to-net loss factorsand robust uncertainty analyses.
• Conduct advanced time-series production analyses to derive statistical metrics (such as 12x24s and 8760s)

as well time-series loss factor and storage modeling.
• Prepare energy assessment reports that adhere to company guidelines and industry best-practices.
• Prepare internal site suitability analyses and critically review and provide comments on site suitability reportssupplied by turbine manufactures.
• Develop new methodologies and software tools to improve the quality and speed of wind resource andenergy production assessments while adhering to company guidelines and industry best-practices.
• Attend and participate in relevant industry conferences and committees to support Avangrid Renewablesthrough maintaining a comprehensive understanding of industry best-practice methodologies.
• Project manage relevant parties and scopes of work as part of formal IEC power curve tests.
• Solar resource assessment and PV modeling experience preferred, but not required.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or higher (Master’s degree preferred) in Meteorology, Engineering, Statistics, Physics,Aeronautics, Atmospheric Sciences, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of industry-relevant experience.
• Ability to create user-friendly, GUI-based data analysis tools and/or proficiency with any of the followingprograming languages: Matlab, R, Python, SQL, Visual Basic (Microsoft Excel).
• Excellent organization skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively in a timely manner with amulti-discipline team of personnel.
• Ability to meet deadlines, rapidly adapt to changing priorities, and solve problems effectively andcollaboratively.
• Approximately 15% domestic and international travel expected.
