Job Summary, Major Roles & Responsibilities:

The Economic Development & Government Relations Specialist position is responsible for increasing UI revenues
by assisting businesses in staying and growing within Avangrid's Connecticut service territories, help recruit new
businesses to the state, and support the Company's public affairs strategy.
The position is also responsible for supporting the work of economic development and public affairs groups at the
local, regional and state level. Additionally, the position is also responsible for providing professional expertise to UI
internal and external customers on economic development and public affairs matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish partnerships and maintain strategic relationships with state and economic development organizations and
local and statewide political officials and utilize the resources of affiliates and professional organizations to enhance
the Company's strategic interests.
Maintain a high level of knowledge of national, state, regional and local business and economic issues that affect
UI's and the community's competitive standing.
Work closely with Strategic Account Services, CLM and Sales & New Ventures teams to achieve department and
customer goals.
Develop, collect and disseminate economic development resource materials including development incentives.
Develop and provide quarterly economic forecast data for UI and provide other economic data to internal customers
as needed.
Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of economic development programs.
Represent Avangrid on state and local boards and committees that further our strategic business and public affairs
Assist in the creation and execution of a strategic plan for Economic Development that incorporates aggressive
goals based on Avangrid's Connecticut companies' desired outcomes. Produce metrics that measure the

effectiveness of the plan, including a communications strategy.

Job Requirements Education, Skills & Abilities

Education: BS/BA Degree Experience:
Degree in Engineering, Economics, Political Science, Marketing or Business Administration or related field is
required. Master's Degree desirable.

Experience in economic development, local and/or state government, or business-related field.
Excellent oral/written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to interact in a positive manner with employees at all levels.
Work with a high degree of integrity, professionalism, initiative and energy level.
Ability to prioritize effectively & manage multiple projects at the same time.
Able to work independently.
Position regularly requires attendance at meetings before 8 a.m. and after 5 p.m.
Experience: 7 Years
