Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

Provide engineering and technical support to Lead Engineers and Project Managers for major capital investment
projects, and perform engineering inspection activities of company assets and facilities. Able to lead and oversee
smaller engineering designs / projects (civil, mechanical and/or electrical) under guidance and direction of the
Hydro Engineering Lead Engineer and/or Project Manager.

Hydro Engineering is responsible for engineering and project management associated with major capital investment
at all NYSEG and RG&E electric generating facilities. In addition, the team is responsible for planning, budgeting,
facilitating and executing inspection activities on twelve (12) water retaining structures (dams, embankments,
spillways, etc.) throughout New York State. When required, Hydro Engineering provides operational and
maintenance engineering support to NYSEG and RG&E Fossil-Hydro Operations, which has a combined total of 24
generating units and associated auxiliary operating systems.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

1. Under guidance and oversight of the Hydro Engineering's Lead Engineer or Project Manager support facility
inspections, engineering and economic analysis to recommend major capital improvements to NYSEG's and
RG&E's 12 hydro-electric generating facilities located throughout New York State. (25%, P)

2. Provide engineering and technical support to major capital investment projects or programs by participating in
project teams, assisting with development of required / supporting authorization documents, design and
construction specifications, contracts, schedules and budgets. (25%, P).

3. Under guidance and direction of Lead Engineers, develop, revise and maintain construction drawings, operating
and maintenance procedures and diagrams, as necessary, to meet project, corporate and/or government agency
requirements, regulatory requirements and operational reliability needs. (25%, P)

4. Assist and/or lead in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance and/or regulatory
compliance programs for water retaining structures. (10%,P)

5. Interact with multiple AVANGRID operating businesses / groups, consultants and contractors in support of major
capital and engineering inspection activities of company assets and facilities (5%, S).
6. Provide field / commissioning engineering support to Hydro Engineering personnel and Fossil-Hydro Operations
personnel, as necessary, to confirm proper implementation / operation of a design and/or project. (5%, S)

7. Under guidance of the Hydro Engineering Lead Engineer or Project Manager, assist with department and/or
business related initiatives. (5%, S)


Education & Experience Required:

•Bachelor's Degree preferred. Associates Degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience required.
•0-2 years of experience in engineering-related functions.
•Experience and knowledge of general construction practices including reading / interpretation of drawings
•Valid driver's license required. Able to travel occasionally - Albany, Plattsburgh, Rochester, New York areas.
