JOB SUMMARY:

Responsibilities of the Investment Planning Team encompass a full rangeof forecasting, budget management, and investment analysis activities.The Senior FP&A Analyst is in a unique position in the planning andcontrol of the Investment portfolio as it sits at the intersection ofbusiness operations and financial control. The primary purpose is toestablish, report on, monitor, and manage the company#s investmentportfolio to financial targets for particular business areas. Thisrepresents a cross section of different operating companies that aresupported by that particular business area. A successful candidate willembrace opportunities to work closely with peers and welcome newchallenges. Additionally, the candidate has excellent analytical skills,a strong work ethic, and an ability to self-task with minimal guidance.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range ofresponsibilities):

1. Develops detailed spreadsheets to manage the delivery of a

functional business area by analyzing current and past trends totargets, validating forecast accuracy and highlights unexpectedvariances. This requires an in-depth experience and knowledge ofcapital projects within a particular area of expertise, phases of thoseprojects, and projected in-service dates across ten years of data.Further requires working with project managers to review status andpotential risks associated with forecasted capital spend on projects.(30% P)2. Communicates with business area budget managers, project teams,and peers to understand moderately complex issues and proposeresolution. Builds rapport, actively listens, and creates an atmosphereof approachability to facilitate information sharing. May be required topresent monthly results and projections, discuss issues and agree tocourse corrections to management of planning. (20% P)3. Monitors compliance to performance indicators, approvals,functional business area targets, and reports on these measures andmetrics to management. Also works with peers within planning andbusiness areas to realign business area targets. (10% P)4. Participates in planning discussions, analyzes, and providesrecommendations involving ideation of projects, change controls andprioritization of the capital projects. Monitors business area targetsand works with team as projects change or newly introduced. (10% P)5. Takes a new perspective on existing processes and takes theinitiative to make improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, andtimeliness. This often involves leveraging and advancing current or newinvestment planning systems, workflows and processes. (10% S)6. Works independently with minimal guidance to produce results,initiate change to personal working style, understand the operationalenvironment and adapt accordingly. (10% P)7. Understands basic project management practices and standards withthe ability to assess current project status, produce tracking metrics,and assess implications on functional business area portfolio. (10% S)

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience Required:


•Bachelor#s degree in engineering, finance, business, or related field
•Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Project Management
•Professional (PMP), or MBA preferred


•Five years of experience in finance, accounting, project management, engineering or related field.

Skills/Abilities:


•Proficiency in SAP (required) and project portfolio management systems (preferred).
•Advanced analytical, Excel skills and PowerPoint skills.
•Candidates should have broad experience leveraging their analytical expertise in various business situations andfeel comfortable working with peers.
•Utility experience preferred.
