Responsible for direction and Supervision of a team of professionals in leading and architecting advanced database and application development for ASC Energy Management System (EMS) and SCADA environments, as partof the global environment of AVANGRID. As part of the Global Team, provides direction, supervision andparticipates in the architects, design and development of Energy Management System functions into a common,integrated solution and aligned to provide a common Global Solution. Coordinates, assigns responsibilities andprovides organizational management over technical and application solutions that satisfies diverse OperationCenters, process owners, satisfies compliance and regulatory requirements and EMS technical requirements tomeet strategic Global business plans. Recommends and fills staffing requirements and maintains staff skillsthrough self and external training to meet the development, support and service requirements of EMS and SCADASystems within Operations Technologies.

MAJOR ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Provides Staff Supervision over and participates in leading the design and technical enhancements in the EnergyManagement Systems, back office environments and other applications in Operations Technologies to meetoperational business requirements. Ensuring systems and applications are designed and implemented to achievesystem performance, availability, recoverability, regulatory, and compliance requirements.2. Participates in and supervises an advanced technical team who develops technical solutions and/or configurationchanges to meet ongoing requirements. Leads implementation of changes as required and prepares specificationsfor approved changes performed by SCADA-EMS analysts3. Participates in and supervises an advanced technical team that performs Energy Management System data base

development and administration, data base conversions and upgrades, development work and applicationdevelopment against complex and multiple data bases within the EMS environments and associated ancillary backoffice systems.4. Participates in and supervises an advanced technical team that performs the design, development andimplementation of EMS Advanced applications including Outage Management, Distribution Management,Transmission and Distribution Network Analysis and/or Geographical Information Systems. This also includesapplication development to support Electric Operations using real time data in areas including security, contingencyanalysis, advanced billing systems, and network analysis.5. Supervises support team responsibilities related to technical capabilities of Energy Control Systems andresponsible for prioritizing technical implementation of applications, coordinating technical system upgrades andtechnical issue resolution with vendors. Responsible for managing operations of all aspect Energy Control systemtechnical platforms and related services from architectural planning through day to day operations and support.6. Responsible for leading lifecycle projects; plans, coordinates, communicates and executes leading crossfunctional teams as required. Interacts with global counterparts to reach common solutions. Develops andmaintains project schedules and budgets to achieve goals. Provided management reports and recommendations toachieve department goals and budget.7. Leads team in creating and maintaining technical documentation, change management principles, systemperformance trend analysis, management and integration of different technical components, training andcompliance material.8. Responsible for managing 24/7 availability of EMS/SCADA /Back Office Applications in the Control Centerenvironment through day to day support and through developed processes and procedures to be used by technicalsupport team.9. Leads coordination with end users and process owners to understand ongoing requirements (changes,modifications, improvements) and ensuing overall technical solution of system implementation for EnergyManagement Systems/SCADA Subsystems and off line applications with Operations Technologies, IT, NYISO,other Utilities and business users. Initiates and leads projects across disciples ensuring timely and accuratesolutions to the business areas, including tracking and addressing unresolved user requests.10. Provides guidance and supervision over complex technical problem resolution and provide training andmentoring to other support and design areas and co-workers. Provides on-going end user training and end usersupport as required and identifies and leads the implementation of system functionality not currently utilized.11. As supervisor, is responsible for assigning responsibilities and achieving and delivering robust enterprisesolutions to address operational and business needs to achieve operational and reliability goals using OT EMS andback office platforms. Platforms include but are not limited to EMS/SCADA Systems, Web Servers, WindowsApplication and Data Base Servers, networking appliances, firewalls, switches, routers and other security platformsfor external data connections.12. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending training, participating in user group meetings, andworking collectively to support various areas of business.13. Provides Supervision over and participates in Disaster Recovery, storm events and other duties as assigned.

RequirementsJob Requirements:

Education/Experience Required:

• Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience preferred. Associates Degree with a minimum of7 years relevant experience required.
• 5 years in an Energy Management System or SCADA environment or relevant experience.
• Prior leadership, supervisory, or project management experience.
• Knowledge of electrical theory.
• Experience and advanced knowledge of database development, support and programming experience.
• Strong administrative, SAP, Human Resource experience.


• Strong Supervisory, leadership and communication skills.
• Strong analytical, complex problem solving and successful negotiation skills.
• Strong background in SCADA/EMS. Siemens Spectrum platform is preferred.
• Knowledge of one or more of the following EMS related systems; Outage Management System, DistributionManagement System, Transmission/Distribution Network Analysis and/or Geographical Information System.
• Technical background with knowledge in technical hardware architecture, Linux/Unix/Windows Operating Systemfamiliarity, networking and topology, understanding of high level network and security concepts.
• Knowledge of security areas such as Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems, continuous security monitoring,centralized log management, network switches, network routers, network design, VPN implementation, TCP/IPcommunication, performing information security assessments, computer forensics, anti-virus, patch evaluation,event monitoring systems, and network analysis.
• Knowledge of network configurations e.g. LAN/VLAN/WAN/IPsec/VPN tunnels/ WINS/DNS/DHCP.
• Knowledge of products such as Sun (Oracle, SQL and Solaris), IBM, Microsoft, Cisco technologies and productsand Open Source products (Linux).
• Experience and proactive mind to coordinate teams and the capacity to lead discussions with management andtechnical teams within the Global EMS/SCADA Teams to meet priorities and resolve issues.
• Experience with information security practices related to NERC CIP, IT, Application and Network Security.
• Strong understanding of Energy Control Centers, Electric Operations, Substation Environments and devices.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Project and other business analytical tools.
• Results oriented and proactive.
• Strong project management skills.
• Proven ability to solve complex technical issues and present complex information in an understandable compellingmanner.

• Must possess good verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to work with all levels of theorganization in a professional manner.
• High level of organizational, budgetary, forecasting and department planning skills. High degree of awareness ofGlobal strategic business goals.
